About us
VORN is a Norwegian company with a clear mission - through precision, innovation and technical solutions, design and build the world’s most reliable and preferred carrying systems for hunters.
The name VORN originates fro Old Norse and means to protect or defend. This principle lies at the core of everything we to: protecting the hunter's firearm and gear while providing instant access when it matters most.
All VORN products are developed in Norway. Inspired by the hunter’s needs and through uncompromising attention to detail and innovative engineering, we never compromise on function or quality. Our products are developed to withstand use in demanding terrain, harsh weather and unpredictable situations where reliability isn’t a goal, but a requirement.

Since the company was established in 2012, our work has resulted in:
- The internationally recognised Quick Rifle Release series
- SR10, a hip pack with integrated shooting rest
- DLS, a modular system that allows the hunter to build a backpack setup tailored to specific needs
Today, with 400 resellers in 33 countries, more than 90,000 hunters around the world uses a VORN backpack.

Our story
VORN’s story began in 2009 in Trondheim, Norway, where founder Eirik Andersen, then a mechanical engineering student, spent weekdays in the classroom and weekends hunting in the forests and mountains around the region. During a capercaillie hunt on skis, Andersen faced a familiar frustration: rifle slings and traditional backpacks made his firearm either too exposed or too slow to access when it counted.
Driven to solve this problem, he built the first prototype of what would become the patented Quick Rifle Release (QRR) system. Using the university’s machine shop, he crafted an aluminum frame, a roughly stitched pack body, and a release mechanism assembled from modified bicycle parts. The next day, he tested the prototype on a hunt — and by the time he returned home, he was already tearing it apart again to refine it further.
What emerged from that process was not just a product, but a philosophy:
The relentless pursuit of improvement — “the hunt for better.”
This mindset has defined VORN from day one. Every detail matters. No idea is considered finished until all possibilities have been explored.
